Finding Momentum in Resistance — The Daily PPILL #325
We need some resistance. I do. Nowhere is this more palpable than when you are in the water. You can feel the water pushing against you as you move. And that is a good thing, because paddling, pushing the water away from you, is what propels us forward. There is also our own awareness of that resistance, which lets us know that what we are doing is working the way we expect it to. If we wouldn’t have that slight resistance, it wouldn’t work, just like the same gestures and movement don’t work when we are out of the water. That’s why us humans are terrible at flying.
