Who’s at fault — The Daily PPILL #45

Sometimes, when a project hits the wall, it is some team member’s fault. They made the wrong decision, or they slacked and did not deliver. That could be true, and it is their fault. They may even deserve to go.

But when a whole project or a whole venture goes underwater, over the cliff; when it is necessary to shut down a whole division or declare bankruptcy; it is never the team’s fault; it is ALWAYS, the leadership.

A person may have gone through a rough patch because of failed leadership. Too many so-called leaders let their teams down, and they, the ones who actually made the mistake, are given a new opportunity.

Give credit where it’s due, take the blame. A good way to start for a leader.

Do you agree?
